Before travelling to Malaysia, foreign visitors must meet the following entry requirements:

1. Passport validity: Your passport must be valid for more than six months from the date of arrival in Malaysia.
2. Dutch emergency passports: Dutch emergency passports (Nederlandse noodpaspoorten) are not accepted for entry into Malaysia. Travellers must use a regular passport that meets the validity requirement.
3. Visa requirements: Obtain a Malaysian visa before travelling if you hold a passport issued by a country whose nationals require a visa to enter Malaysia.
4. Medication: If you are carrying medication covered by the Dutch Opium Act (Opiumwet) or Malaysia’s Dangerous Drugs Act, you must obtain a legalised medical statement from your general practitioner (GP) before travelling.
5. Return or onward ticket: You must possess a valid return ticket or a confirmed ticket to a third country.
6. Proof of sufficient funds: You may be required to show that you have enough money to cover your expenses during your stay in Malaysia.
7. Malaysia Digital Arrival Card: Complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) within three days before your arrival in Malaysia.
8. Customs regulations: Consult the Royal Malaysian Customs Department’s Traveller’s Guide for information about prohibited and dutiable goods, duty-free allowances and applicable tax rates.

Meeting these requirements does not automatically guarantee entry. The final decision on admission is made by the Malaysian immigration authorities at the point of entry.
